Differences:

Increased DSP performance between Type 1 and Type 2 or 3. Since Type 2 and 3 use 168Mhz Trimedia chips you get up to 40% more DSP power for real-time routing, mixing, effects, auxilliaries etc.
Type 2 and 3 also allows greater data transfer bandwidth (672MB/s compared with 576MB/s) allowing more high sample rate channels like 24bit and 32bit, 96khz, 192kHz, 384kHz or DSD to be mixed and processed.
The difference between Type 2 and Type 3 Mykerinos DSP cards is that Type 3 has 32 MBytes of onboard SDRAM. This allows for more real-time delay type effects like the built-in delay and echo effects of Pyramix, professional real-time high quality Aphro V1 Reverb effect or for implementing large banks of real-time delay , delay compensation for multi-channel recording or mastering, and for high sample rate reverb effects.

Based on Philips Trimedia 32 bit floating point processing VLIW technology.

Highly flexible modular I/O architecture can be tailored to user's needs by the use of dedicated daughter boards. This I/O modularity offers a unique opportunity to meet a wide range of market requirements.
On board Sync Connector that includes Video Sync I/O, VITC reader and generator, LTC reader and generator and built-in time code insertion in Video window.
2 channel 24 bit 96 kHz on-board monitoring output.
Multiple card interconnected through HDTDM (High Definition Time Domain Multiplex) Bus with support of up to 256 audio channels.
Supports up to 8 Mykerinos boards in parallel or daisy chain mode.
Can be used with any I/O Daughter board to increase total amount of I/O channels and/or as an additional "DSP Nursery"

Audio Input and Output

DSP daughter cards connect directly to the Mykerinos DSP card and DO NOT take up any additional PCI slots.

Each Mykerinos DSP card can support ONE daughter card for a particular type of audio input and output.

DUAL Analog + AES-EBU Daughter Card (Click for larger image)	Analog Section 4 channels of 24bit/48kHz AD/DA conversion. 2 channels with switchable Mic/Line pre-amplifiers and phantom power. XLR balanced inputs and outputs. Perfect for voice-over or overdub applications and for small recording studios. AES/EBU Section 4 AES/EBU inputs and outputs 8 channels of 24bit/48kHz audio inputs and outputs. Connect to any broadcast TV, radio or professional studio audio equipment. Perfect for audio for video, advertisement, film, overdubbing, recording and mastering.
TDIF Interface (Click for larger image)	Triple TDIF interface for up to 24 channels of 16bit/48kHz audio inputs and outputs. 24bit support for up to 12 channels of 24bit/48kHz audio inputs and outputs. Connect to any professional Tascam multi-channel recorder like the DA-78HR, DA-88, DA-98, DA-98HR machines.
AES/EBU Interface (Click for larger image)	24 channels of audio inputs and outputs via AES/EBU interface. Support for up to 24bit/192kHz. Support for DSD I/O via AES/EBU. Connect to any professional digital console, multi-channel digital tape machine, multi-channel digital recorder and to professional TV, radio and broadcast audio equipment. Available with optional 8 channels real-time sample rate converter.
DSD/SACD Interface (Click for larger image)	8 channels of DSD audio inputs and outputs. Support for SDIF 2 or 3 format. BNC inputs and outputs. Connect to EMM Labs 8 channel DSD converters for DSD multi-channel recording, playback, mixing and mastering.
SDIF (Sony Digital Interface) (Click for larger image)	24 channels of audio inputs and outputs via SDIF interface Support for SDIF 2 or 3 format. BNC inputs and outputs. Connect to Sony professional digital multi-track recorders and digital consoles.
MADI Coaxial + MADI Optical (Click for larger image)	Up to 64 channels of 24bit/48kHz audio inputs and outputs via MADI interface. Available with either Coaxial inputs and outputs or SC optical inputs and outputs. Wordclock BNC. Connect to any MADI supported digital console like SSL, Neve, Sony, Otari, Studer, Euphonix, Soundtracs etc. You can also connect with large format digital multi-track machines and broadcast TV, radio or film consoles, multi-track machines and MADI supported devices.
