INCITE MULTIMEDIA CORPORATION INC,
established in Geneva Switzerland, 1997, originally
came into being to develop an exciting new software project incorporating the
latest desktop
video technology. It was a joint venture between a Swiss company, building professional
television studios internationally and a Canadian developer of professional
video software.
At that
time, editors were using expensive hardware linear systems, cumbersomely dependent
on "rendering technology and isolated in a world of proprietary files and
databases. The
entrance of Incite into the market place, over three years ago, was all part
of the initial blast of
the real-time revolution. At long last here was an editing system that could
meet highly
professional standards in a single, compact package. Incite was, and still is,
inexpensive, fast,
simple to use, architecturally open to other platforms and systems and, perhaps
most
importantly, an essential and innovative tool for increasing a facility's overall
production.
Incite Today____________________________________________________
Today, Incite
is entirely Swiss owned and directed, although it has chosen to maintain an
international profile by gathering talented personnel from all over the globe.
The direction of the
company is still geared towards providing the very best in NLE solutions, but
has evolved to be
much more than just an editing system.
Video storage
and media delivery, FC networking, SAN technology, all inclusive 3rd party
options, professional level audio editing tools, complete integration features
for post-production
& broadcast studio hardware these are just some of the other branches
and features of the
spirit behind Incite: a flexible, expandable set of NLE solutions designed to
deliver the very best
from todays cutting edge technology.

As a result
of its affordability and scalability, the Incite Editing System is unique in
the market
place because it covers the whole range of editing needs. As a basic software
package
(combined with the Matrox DigiSuite), it is extremely accessible to small post
production studios,
in-house editing facilities and broad-scale installations (like universities
and other institutions).
But Incite is also at home in more complex and demanding environments, as its
recent
integration as Incite Pro within Philips Broadcast's Edit Stream suite of products
proves.
Capabilities and options like multi-format editing and file transparency, V-LAN
control,
professional audio editing tools, live input features and Fibre Channel/SAN
technology networking
ensure Incite's role as a key player in the world of top-end broadcasting.

Incite & Matrox Digisuite__________________________________________
As an editor,
Incite is highly acclaimed for its intuitive interface and thorough feature
list.
Designed for the Matrox DigiSuite hardware family, the Incite/Matrox combination
has proven
itself to be a leader in the world of non-linear editing and broadcasting, continually
sparking new
innovations and expanding editing capabilities for a wide range of markets world-wide.
Mjpeg, DV & DVD Authoring_______________________________________
From its
inception, Incite could boast real-time editing with mathematically lossless
picture
quality. Incite has also proven itself unique by capitalizing on DigiSuite's
capacity for live input
features for "live recording" and advanced hybrid editing with real-time
FX. More recently, Incite
has broken into the world of DV using the DigiSuite DTV, real-time editing for
all DV formats and
MPEG 2.
Fibre Channel & San Technologies_________________________________
When it
comes to fibre channel technologies, Incite has been a forerunner and always
in step
with current breakthroughs in networking developments. Most recent accomplishments
being
the demonstration of 7 Incite stations sharing and editing the same files simultaneously
over a
fiber channel Storage Area network (SAN). At NAB 2000, Incite was also able
to show real-time
simultaneous record and playback, an obvious time-saving advantage when it comes
to
multi-station productions. As a result, Incite units can be integrated into
multi-channel
applications for simultaneous broadcasting reception/transmission and editing.
Incite Options___________________________________________________
IMC also
develops and promotes a professional range of third party options backed by
extensive
software research and development for enhanced integration with Incite. From
third party
plug-ins for FX rendering (including some of the more popular names like TitleMotion,
BorisFX,
Ultimatte and FilmFX) to third party hardware, IMC pushes the NLE editing station
into the more
professional realm of "Editing Suite". The "Plus packages"
include V-LAN control for up to 31
VTRs, real-time 3D DVE effects using the Pinnacle Genie board and a top-end
audio solutions
(64 real-time channels of 24 bit, 96 kHz audio with unlimited real-time audio
effects) and the
JLCooper remote control panel with motorised faders.
Incite & Merging Technologies (Audio)_______________________________
Incite now
offers full integration with the Mykerinos audio board provided by Merging
Technologies of Lausanne, an Incite optional which delivers professional audio
editing tools,
effects and features: 64 Channels of 24 bit, 96 kHz audio with 16 in & out
(and room for
expansion), all real-time effects, unlimited keyframing and surround sound mixing.
Other
features include integration with JLCooper's motorized faders for audio levels
and rubberbanding
direct to storyclips, the ability to move and match audio to video clips with
out disrupting
playback (on the fly), multiple channels for live input and voice over recording
and all the
advantages of having a dedicated audio card: all audio work is performed on
the board, leaving
the CPU free for video editing and effects rendering.
Incite Media Assistant_____________________________________________
In January
2000 IMC announced the release of Incite Media Assistant (a stand-alone utility
package for editors) This unique software package provides 3 fully automated
conversion tools
for batch encoding on a standard PC (without the need of a graphic card). It
also provides
media management tools, off-line, codec-based editing and IML (Incite Media
List) exportation
features.
Philips Broadcast & Incite Pro______________________________________
In March
2000, IMC signed a contract with Philips (Division MP4 NET) to supply them with
the
Incite Editing System for their professional editing suites, to be known as
"Incite Pro". Philips
has also commissioned IMC to carry out special development projects.
